Call for Storytellers around the world: International Day of Non-Violence 2017

Dear Storytellers,

After Rudyard Kipling’s If, Imagine, Human Rights Day and World Storytelling Day, here we are to the new project.
As many of you well know, on 15 June 2007 the United Nations decided to make 2 October as the International Day of Non-Violence, that is also Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, to celebrate this time in "an appropriate manner and disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness."
I see storytelling as a wonderful and powerful way to do that, don’t you agree?
So, I invite you to tell us how stories may spread and support non-violence in a short video (maximum 1 minute, no sound, no rumors and no subtitles, please) speaking in your first language, sending also the speech’s text with English translation to this email.

Deadline: September 20, 2017

Let’s make peace through stories!
